The Yellow Cottages

These two Yellow Cottages (Banana and Rose) are both rebuilt, each with new electrical, plumbing, carpeting and central air/heat supplied by energy-saving heat pumps. The kitchens have brand new refrigerators and stoves. Conveniently located on SR-24, 1/4 mile west of its intersection with Hwy 19/98, they're only ten minutes from Chiefland (Walmart) or Bronson (County seat) and just half an hour from Crystal River, Gainesville or Cedar Key. The Town of Otter Creek is a small historic railroad town, set deep in the woods of the Nature Coast, a sportsman's paradise. There's plenty of room to park a boat, RV or ATV. Sorry, we don't allow pets.

The Rose Cottage - Furnished Seasonal

The Rose Cottage is named for the key rose bush that climbs the antique iron sewing machine on the west side of the porch. The porch has two comfortable primitive cedar benches, a great place to kick back and relax.
Depending on season, the porch can be covered in morning glory vine and angel trumpet. The carved driftwood fish and oar on the outside hint of the eclectic interior. This is the smaller of the two cottages and has two bedrooms each with a queen size bed. The bath/shower is new as are all the fixtures. The kitchen is fully equipped including microwave, coffee maker, new fridge and range. We will soon be posting interior photos.

The Banana Cottage - Unfurnished Annual

This is the larger of the two with the front porch facing the street so you can sit and watch the daily parade of cars heading for Cedar Key. You enter with a generous dining area adjoining the kitchen to the left and the living room to the right. Windows in the living room and kitchen face the street, the dining window looks into the woods. There is a closet in the hall and a pantry in the kitchen which has all new cabinets. Proceeding down the hall, there are two bedrooms, one on either side of the hallway, each with its own closet. The bath with shower/tub and linen storage at the end of the hall at the back of the building
